HU-UFL orients towards development in international relations in the areas of research and training. This can help to develop training and other aspects of HU-UFL. Based on promoting traditional relations with the United States, China, Japan, Korea, and Thailand, HU-UFL actively opens its relations with strategic and potential partners in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and so on in the areas of undergraduate, and graduate training, lecturers/ students exchange, research, curriculum development and textbook compilation.

From 2005 to 2016, HU-UFL has had cooperative relations with over 100 international educational institutions and signed 60 Memoranda of Understanding in the areas of academic affairs, research, and cultural exchanges. Facilities, learning resources, teacher and student training have been improved and enhanced considerably thanks to the university's appropriate strategy in international cooperation and its successful implementation of the collaborative activities.

Every year, from 8 to 10 foreign teachers/specialists from the United States, Britain, Australia, France, Japan, Korea, and other countries come to teach and do research at HU-UFL.

Students from the United States, China, Thailand, Japan, Laos etc.  study or do their internship at HU-UFL, which contributes to creating an international academic environment for the school.
