JMU Students & Teachers Launch First Exchange at HUFLIS 2025-06-16

HUFLIS - As part of the partnership with James Madison University (JMU) in the United States, the University of Foreign Languages and International Studies, Hue University will host a delegation of 12 students and faculty from JMU—led by Associate Professor Elisabeth Kverne—on a short-term exchange program at HUFLIS from June 13 to July 3, 2025.

This three-week study tour will offer an immersive experience in Vietnamese history and culture through a variety of engaging and meaningful activities designed to foster mutual understanding and cultural connection. Highlights of the program include:

• Academic sessions on Vietnamese history and culture, with a special focus on Hue and the Central region, as well as lectures on Vietnamese storytelling.

• Cultural excursions to historic sites and scenic landmarks in and around Hue.

• Visits to traditional craft villages, where participants will get hands-on with local artisan techniques and learn about cultural craftsmanship.

• Exchange events with HUFLIS students, providing opportunities to build friendships and strengthen international academic collaboration.

This marks the inaugural student exchange program between HUFLIS and JMU, and we hope it will be a valuable platform for cross-cultural learning and relationship-building. Additionally, it presents a fantastic opportunity for HUFLIS students to sharpen their cross-cultural knowledge and language skills learned at HUFLIS.
