Reception of the Delegation from Australian Volunteers International 2025-02-21
On February 21st, 2025, HUFLIS honorably received Mr. David Sharman Selvidge, Regional Director-East Asia, Australian Volunteers Program to pay an official visit at the university. On behalf of HUFLIS, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ho Hoang Thuy, Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh, Dean of International Studies Faculty; Dr. Ngo Le Hoang Phuong, Vice Dean of English Faculty, and Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh Nhu, Head of International Cooperation Office welcomed the delegation.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of Australian Volunteers Program at HUFLIS. Accordingly, in the AY of 2025-2026, AVI will dispatch a new volunteer to assist the teaching and learning of English language at HUFLIS’ Faculty of English and Faculty of International Studies. As stated by Mr. David Sharman Selvidge, AVI volunteers can be of any academic fields such as English language teaching, international studies; technology, engineers…as long as they suit the training program at the host institution. Also, following the one in April 2025, AVI will try to send more volunteers to HUFLIS in the coming years to assist teaching and learning activities, academic research, publication or any other related educational activities.
The cooperation with AVI will bring more opportunities for teachers and students of HUFLIS to work and study with native teachers, helping them develop professionally and improve their language skills, which is one of the important goals of the training programs.
