This conference was co-organized by three institutions including the University of Foreign Languages, Hue University; the University of Foreign Languages Studies, Danang University; and Vietnam National University, Hanoi - University of Languages and International Studies.

Under the theme of “Interdisciplinary Research in Linguistics and Language education”, the conference received over 100 full-text papers from 28 universities, colleges and research institutions in more than 10 provinces and cities across the country - from Tay Bac, Thai Nguyen in the North; Quy Nhon, Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Danang in the Central; to  Bac Lieu and Tra Vinh in the very south of Vietnam. There were 91 presentations categorized into 8 sub-themes  including Contrastive Linguistics; Discourse Analysis; Skills Teaching Methodology, Language Teaching Methodology; Culture and Cross-culture communication; Translation and Interpretation training; ICT integration in Language Teaching; ESP and Vietnamese for foreigners. The third national conference on Interdisciplinary Research in Linguistics and Language Education was a good opportunity for researchers, teachers, and students to announce their study results in the fields of language and culture; as well as to share the experience regarding teaching methods, curriculum design, assessment approaches, ICT integration, etc; The conference is an opportunity to create the interdisciplinary research groups and connect the educational and research institutions across the country.
