Representatives of organizers, guests and sponsors of the 2023 Japanese speech contest

The 2023 Japanese speech contest with the theme "the imprint of friendship and cooperation between Thua Thien Hue province and Japanese partners", co-organized by Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Thua Thien Hue and HUFLIS, brought together 10 contestants and nearly 400 participants who are students from many secondary schools, high schools, colleges and universities throughout Thua Thien Hue Province. In addition, the final speech contest had the presence of representatives of diplomatic units from Japan and Vietnam, including representatives of the Japanese Embassy in Da Nang, representatives of Thua Thien Hue Department of Foreign Affairs, Thua Thien Hue Union of Friendship Organizations; Representatives of Hue University; and the sponsors who are Japanese organizations and businesses including Mitani Sangyou Group, Canvas Gate Co. Ltd., Meros Language Academy, Brycen Vietnam Co., Ltd., AEREOLE IT Co., Ltd., Nikko Joint Stock Company, MSV Co. Ltd., and Takatsu Engineering Vietnam Co. Ltd.

In her speech at the Opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr Pham Thi Hong Nhung, rector of HUFLIS confirmed that over the past years, the Japanese speech contests organized by the university have always attracted the attention and participation of many students and those who love Japanese language, culture, and people. Through these activities, she hopes that students and Vietnamese people will better understand the Japanese language, culture, and people, which will be the foundation for the friendship that people of the two countries have for each other.

On the same day, the 6th Japanese cultural event named Mini Hue-Taste of Japan was held, and this time with a larger scale than usual to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations. Mini Hue-Taste of Japan 2023 was organized by HUFLIS with sponsorship from Canvas Gate Co. Ltd., and the Japanese Executive committee of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam.

Mini Hue is an event to introduce Japanese culinary culture, tea ceremony, and arts and crafts. The event attracted a lot of attention from students of the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture of HUFLIS, and those interested in Japanese culture in the local area.

The important events to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations with Japan at HUFLIS was a great success, leaving many good impressions on the participants from both the Vietnamese and Japanese sides.
