The conference attracted about a hundred papers from all over the country, with the focus on the contemporary issues in linguistics and language education, including language teaching methodology, applied linguistics, assessment in language teaching, cultural elements in language teaching, translation and interpretation, applying technology in language teaching, and teaching Vietnamese to foreigners. Attendants and presenters are officers, teachers, graduate students and lecturers from high schools, colleges, institutes and universities from 10 cities and provinces of Vietnam. The conference has been a platform for scholars of the same interest to share experience and ideas in doing research in linguistics and language education as well as the applicability of the research results in their teaching and learning of languages.
