Official meeting with the Director of the Regional English Language Office and information sharing session on US government scholarship programs. 2021-01-22

On the morning of January 22, 2021, the delegation led by Mr. Jerrold Frank, Director of Regional English Language Office, the US Embassy in Hanoi paid an official visit to the University of Foreign Languages, University on a business trip in Hue City. 

 

On behalf of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Hong Nhung, Rector of HUFL, and representatives of the related faculties and departments welcomed the delegation. At the meeting, the Rector appreciated the valuable support of the Regional English Language Office to the University in organizing the VietTESOL 2019 international conference, sending experts to support teaching language for students, and fostering teachers under the context of the University training scale has been increasing rapidly. In addition, the Rector expressed her expectation to receive more information about the scholarship program to promptly introduce students in Hue University in general and the University of Foreign Languages in particular. Mr. Jerrold Frank highly appreciated the dynamic and activeness of the University in training cooperation programs and expert dispatching programs. He also updated on training programs, online training, projects hosted by the Regional English Language Office and encouraged the participation from the University's faculties.

 

 


After the meeting, the University of Foreign Languages, Hue University cooperated with the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to hold a meeting to share information about the scholarship program of the US government, introduced the Fulbright scholarship program focusing on the Master scholarship program, sharing experience to prepare scholarship documents and apply scholarships for lecturers and students. The sharing session took place in a vibrant, friendly atmosphere and brought useful information about scholarship programs, experience in finding scholarships and necessary skills in preparing documents for young lecturers and students attending.
